We had an Italian Greyhound named Bella Mia who struggled with separation anxiety, so we decided to get her a sister. I found an ad for 8-week-old puppies about an hour and a half away. When we arrived, the puppies were kept in a hot garage and covered in fleas. My heart broke for them. One little girl, mostly white with gray markings and a big spot at the base of her tail, immediately bonded with us, especially my daughter. We fell in love and named her Luna.
Luna instantly connected with Bella, and they were inseparable. She was a snuggly, playful, and affectionate little dog, always wanting to be on our laps, under blankets, or hugging us. She loved balls and her stuffed fox toy, but she was picky with food and had dental issues, so we started early annual teeth cleanings.
Early last year, Luna stopped eating and lost weight. During a vet appointment, she became stiff and frightened, and despite the vet’s efforts, she suffered a heart attack and passed away. The grief was overwhelming; I blamed myself, struggled to sleep, and missed her deeply.
Searching for support, I discovered Susie’s Pet Loss, Grief Support & Animal Communication group. Through a session, Susie conveyed that Luna was free from fear, pain, and guilt, and asked us to release our grief. Luna indicated she wanted to come back to us.

We looked for whippet puppies, hoping Luna might return as one who could safely play with our other dog, Vixen. We found two small female puppies, Dahlia and Lily, and couldn’t tell which was Luna. Susie contacted Luna, confirming that Lily was the reincarnation of her soul.
When Lily came home, she immediately displayed Luna’s personality—snuggling in the same spots, giving hugs, playing with balls, and even picking out Luna’s favorite toy.
Having Lily with us has brought incredible joy. She shares Luna’s mannerisms and energy, and we’re so grateful for Susie’s guidance in reconnecting with Luna’s spirit. It has been an amazing and healing experience for our family.
